Current Undergraduate Scholarships

Please find below a list of scholarships that are available to current students in our Faculty. These scholarships have all been generously donated by our industry partners and we appreciate their support and commitment to our students. Please read the terms and conditions and the application instructions of each scholarship carefully.

There is closing date for each scholarship which will be determined at the time the scholarships opens (this is due to the changing opening dates each year). Applications submitted after the closing dates unfortunately, cannot be accepted.

Interview panels usually consist of an Academic and one or two representatives from the supporting industry partner. Good luck!

Who Should Apply: Undergraduate students across all faculties who are currently enrolled full time in their 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year with a WAM of 75 or above.

Summer Research Project Scholarship

Who Should Apply:
  • Students in the B. Engineering and MPE programs in the Faculty of Engineering and IT, who are interested in undertaking research projects with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering (EIE) during the summer break of their studies.
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled (full-time) prior to the commencement of the scholarship.
  • B.E students must have successfully completed a minimum of 120 credit points in their course prior to the commencement of the scholarship and be enrolled in ELEC4702.
  • MPE students must have completed 24 cp in their first semester and complete 48 credit points in their 1st year. They must be pre-enrolled in ENGG5217.
  • Applicants’ weighted average mark (WAM) should be 75 or above at the point of the potential commencement of their scholarship, and should have at least 12 credit points remaining to complete.
Value: $3,500
Duration: 6 December 2011 - 2 March 2012 (10 weeks)

Selection: To be based on academic merit, demonstrated knowledge and interest in the research project topics
Work Experience: The EIE Summer Research Projects may be considered for work experience to fulfil the requirements of ELEC 4702 Practical Experience / ENGG5217 Industry Experience. For recognition of Work Experience, students should secure approval from the Director of Undergraduate Studies / Director of Postgraduate Program prior to the acceptance of the Scholarships, and to fulfil all reporting requirements for ELEC4702 Practical Experience / ENGG 5217 Industry Experience.
