Sydney Environment Institute

Michelle St Anne is the executive administrator and event manager for the Sydney Environment Institute. She brings both corporate experience and creativity to this role, with a background in both corporate conference management and theatre direction.


Michelle began as a conference producer and event manager, focusing on environmental and infrastructure projects, for IIR Conferences Australia. She then moved onto the US Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) where she worked as the executive assistant and event manager. She was also a PIMCO foundation board member representing the Arts and Humanities.


Outside of SEI, Michelle is the Artistic Director and founder of the award winning Sydney based theatre company ‘The Living Room Theatre’. This Not for Profit company has produced over 11 ambitious productions and has received the 2013 national IDEA (Interior Design Excellence Awards) Award in the Event Category. Her next work, supported in part by SEI and WWF, is an Earth Hour event titled ‘She still cries at night’ that explores turtles , their habitat and the destruction of the Great Barrier Reef.

She is currently the artist in residence at The Macleay Museum where she is creating a work She only barks at night for May 2015.
