Hotspots in Australian climate adaptation

Exploring stakeholder responses to climate change.

In this project we examine how community, business and government stakeholders are responding to significant climate change impacts. Our project will focus on a number of key ‘hotspots’ of physical climate change impact, including coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef, sea-level rise and coastal development on the NSW coast, and bushfire and flooding risk in rural Australia. We focus upon the local and regional and national-level political strategies stakeholders employ in seeking to maximise their interests and the potential for more democratic, participatory responses to climate change adaptation.
