Space Allocation Management
Space Allocation refers to the effective distribution of physical built spaces owned or operated by the University, whether for teaching and learning, research, office or for any other operational purposes within the University.
All space within the University is available for allocation or reallocation to organisational units to support the University’s object, and responsibility lies with the DVC(SM), after consideration of the advice of the SEG Space Management Committee.
The management of space within existing space allocated to a faculty or organisational unit is the responsibility of the Dean or Director (as the case may be), except where, in the opinion of the DVC(SM), the space is under-utilised.
The University implements the management of space allocation in accordance with the
Space Management Policy 2012 and Space Management Procedures 2012.
All applications for:
- the allocation of space;
- change of use or function of allocated space; or
- allocation of space to external users
must commence with the lodgement of a space allocation Business Case with the Campus Infrastructure & Services portfolio.
