Traffic

When driving on any university campus you are bound by NSW Road Rules. These rules are in place to protect both drivers and pedestrians.

Any breach of these road rules can result in an infringement which is issued by our Security Officers.

Drivers

When driving on campus remember to:

  • observe the 25 km/h speed limit at all times
  • keep an eye out for stop signs
  • give way to pedestrians
  • slow down at speed bumps
  • observe one-way and give way signs
  • park in designated areas only

Pedestrian safety

While walking through campus all pedestrians should be aware of their surroundings. Always remember to:

  • look out for cyclists as well as cars
  • stop at crossings and wait for cars to stop
  • walk with one earphone out so you can hear cars approaching
  • look before you cross the road
  • do not jay walk across City Road

Cyclists

Cycling is a popular and environmentally-friendly way to travel to and from campus. There are a range of bike storage options around our campuses to help facilitate this means of transport.

To cycle safe around campus, remember to:

  • always wear a helmet
  • use hand signals when turning
  • obey traffic and road signs
  • ride in a prominent position
  • don't weave in and out of traffic
  • give way to pedestrians at crossings
