What you can do
- If you work with hazardous chemicals always ensure you have a spill kit in a clearly labelled and accessible place in the workshop
- Report all spills immediately to either the E-Service Desk, University Security or the local emergency services depending on the severity.
- Purchase chemicals in small quantities, only as required. The cost of disposal can often cancel out any cost saving achieved by purchasing in bulk. Some chemicals have a limited life span, and may deteriorate and become unstable with age.
