Research at the Sydney Centre for the Foundations of Science

The Sydney Centre for the Foundations of Science is an interdisciplinary research centre devoted to the history and philosophy of science and medicine. The Centre brings together researchers from Medicine, Physics, Biology, History and Philosophy of Science, History, and Philosophy in an enterprise we think of as "scientific humanities". This approach places great importance on both scientifically-informed humanities and philosophically- and historically-informed science. Both are crucial to a proper understanding of the world in which we live. Much of this work is conducted in team-oriented investigations led by senior researchers in the relevant areas, and involving the many postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows associated with the Centre.
