We understand that returning to study after a long break can be challenging and also provide exciting opportunities for positive change.

Setting back into study smoothly will help you to feel a sense of belonging, as part of our University community, and help you ignite your potential. The University offers a wide range of programs and activities to help you make the transition to university study. As a postgraduate student, you may find the following orientation events useful:

Postgraduate welcome and orientation

Student Services runs a welcome and orientation for all new postgraduate students, and their website includes information about faculty welcomes. The Orientation website also covers:

  • skills workshops
  • our library services
  • campus maps
  • other services that will support your studies and your lifestyle as a student.

O-Week

The University of Sydney Union and other student organisations coordinate Orientation Week (O-Week), giving you an opportunity to find out about the services they offer and the clubs and societies you can join.
