How to apply

Applications for 2020 intake open on 3 April 2019

Thank you for your interest in our E12 Scheme. Applications for 2020 entry via E12 are accepted via UAC's Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS) from 3 April 2019 - you must apply for SRS, select the course you'd like to be considered for under E12 as your top University of Sydney preference, AND upload the answers to the 3 E12 questions in the SRS system.

Here are the five simple steps you need to follow to apply for E12:

Step 1: Choose a course

Look through the more than 90 University of Sydney courses available through E12, and see if there’s one that would be perfect for you. Make sure you are taking any necessary HSC/IB subjects (and meeting the minimum band requirements and any other admission criteria), and have a good chance of meeting the E12 ATAR for that course.

Please note: you will only be considered for entry under E12 for the top E12-eligible University of Sydney preference in your list of UAC preferences as at 11:59pm on 30 September 2019. That is, you will only be considered for one (1) course in terms of entry under E12.

Step 2: Check your eligibility

Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria for admission under E12.

Step 3: Prepare your application and talk to your school principal

Prepare your E12 supporting document which contains your answers to the three E12 questions.

Your principal will need to complete ratings for you in UAC's SRS portal, once you complete and submit your application (within your UAC application). They submit this online after you have applied. That means it’s a good idea to talk to them now (and your careers adviser) about your intention to apply for the E12 scheme, and the university course you want to study.

Step 4: Submit your application through UAC's SRS portal, upload the supporting document, and place the course you would like to be considered for as your top University of Sydney preference

Once you’ve decided which course you’d like to apply for and have spoken to your principal, apply online via UAC's Schools Recommendations Schemes (SRS) application portal by 11.59pm, 30 September 2019. Your top E12-eligible University of Sydney preference as at 11.59pm, 30 September 2019 will be the only course you can be considered for under E12, although you will be considered for any subsequent preference for non-E12 (standard) entry.

You must make sure you also answer and upload the three E12 questions to remain eligible for consideration under E12. The document you must fill out can be downloaded here. Each answer must not exceed 200 words.

Step 5: Sit your exams and wait for your results

Successful applicants will receive a conditional E12 offer in mid-November.

Some courses have additional admission criteria where you may be asked to attend an interview with the faculty that teaches your E12 course, audition or submit a portfolio.

Once you have received your ATAR, met the conditions listed on your conditional E12 offer, as well as any other additional admission criteria and placed your E12 course as your first eligible preference by close of preferences for December Round 2 consideration, you will receive a UAC offer from us.

Welcome to the University of Sydney!
