Course-specific application requirements
For entry to some of our courses we consider more than just your marks. In these cases we need to know more about you, and may ask you to submit a portfolio or come to the University for an interview or audition. The following courses have additional application requirements.
A small number of high-achieving students study medicine as part of our seven-year ‘combined degree’ program. To be eligible you need to apply straight from school and we require a 99.95 ATAR (or equivalent) plus an interview. For Music/Medicine the ATAR is slightly lower (99.50 or equivalent), and requires an audition and interview. Sydney Medical School welcomes high-achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students for this program through our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pathway.
Most Sydney medical students join us through our graduate-entry scheme. This requires you to achieve a credit average in your bachelor’s degree (any discipline), and to perform satisfactorily in both an admissions test and an interview. If you plan to apply for graduate entry, you should start the application process at least 12 months in advance.

To apply for courses at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, you need to submit your UAC application, and an application for audition and/or interview by 30 September. You may then be invited to an audition and/or interview in late November (some dates are available in mid-September and early October).
For more information, visit the Sydney Conservatorium of Music website
After you register with UAC you will also need to register online with the Faculty of Dentistry by Friday 25 October 2013 to sit a Personal Qualities Assessment (PQA) test on Monday 11 November 2013 (there is a $75 fee for this). Applicants who are successful in the PQA test will be invited to multiple mini interviews on Tuesday 3 December and Wednesday 4 December 2013.
For details, see the Faculty of Dentistry website
In addition to a UAC application, all applicants need to submit a Commitment to Veterinary Science form by 30 November and complete the Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT).
For more details, see the Faculty of Veterinary Science website
In addition to a UAC application, you will also need to submit a portfolio of your artwork. You can choose to present the portfolio at an interview or send it electronically or deliver a hard copy to SCA. You will be invited to apply for an interview or submit your portfolio shortly after submitting your UAC application.
