Costs & fees

The fees you pay at the University of Sydney can be divided into four main types:

  • Tuition fees, of which you need to pay one semester up front as a deposit
  • The Student Services and Amenities Fee
  • Incidental fees, for equipment or protective clothing (a requirement of some courses)
  • Health insurance, through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) scheme.

The tuition fee you pay as a postgraduate coursework student depends on the study load you undertake for your chosen course.

On the following pages we explain each of these costs in more details, and tell you about the various payment methods available to you.

You will also find information about the University’s policy on refunds and cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment of tuition fees.
