Student Loans from Scandinavian Countries: Norway
Lånekassen is a Norweigan governmnet funded program that will provide support for full-time education at universities outside the Nordic region.
Students at the University of Sydney will need to apply direct through Lånekassen, online applications are accepted through the Lånekassen website.
Confirmation of Enrolment
Lånekassen has a form that needs to be completed to verify a student’s academic progress and tuition fees paid for the academic year, this form needs to be completed at the beginning of each year in order for a student to continue to receive funding.
When you require an academic progress and tuition fees (C form) to be signed by the University, please download the C form and complete all necessary fields before you provide it to the International Loan Schemes office.
Student Loans from Scandinavian Countries: Sweden
CSN is the Swedish Government authority in charge of financial aid for students. CSN approves and sends out Swedish financial aid for studies, which includes both grants and loans to students in Sweden and abroad.
Students at the University of Sydney will need to apply direct through CSN online. Further information on how to apply can be found on the CSN website.
Study Assurance / School Signature Form
CSN will send you a Study Assurance form within 8 weeks of the start of the upcoming semester. You will not receive your funding until the form has been completed. Please complete the students section before sending to the International Loans Adviser for completion. The International Loans Adviser will return the form to your student email account.
Student Loans from the United Kingdom
The University of Sydney is registered as a Professional and Career Development Loans Provider. Professional and Career Development Loans are bank loans to pay for courses and training that help with your career, these loans are usually offered at a reduced interest rate and the government pays interest while you’re studying.
Please note they have an eligibility criteria that should be reviewed before application. Applications should be made 3 months before the course starts to give the bank enough time to process payment. The University of Sydney will need to be referenced in the application. Please note the University’s reference number as 10646.
