How much does a coursework program cost?
Domestic postgraduate students fall into two categories, full fee paying and Commonwealth-supported places (CSPs).
Commonwealth-supported places
Commonwealth-supported places are available for some postgraduate coursework programs. This means the government contributes towards the cost of your study and you pay a 'student contribution' amount. These places are limited and often allocated to students based on merit.
If you are successful in securing a CSP, you have the choice whether to pay your fees upfront or defer payment through the government’s HECS-HELP loan scheme. The exact student contribution you pay will depend on the specific units of study in which you enrol.
This is similar to the HECS-HELP for undergraduate study.
The number of CSP places is increasing for students enrolling for study in 2012

Study now, pay later
If you do not get a CSP you are a full fee paying student. You can either pay upfront for the units you study, or defer payments through the federal government’s interest-free FEE-HELP loan scheme so that you pay later through the taxation system.
Further financial support is available through our scholarship schemes.
To find the tuition fees for your course, search for your course of interest and view fee information displayed in the essentials panel.
These fees represent the amount you need to pay in the calendar year you commence your course, starting in 2012 for a standard annual full-time load of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). If your study load is more or less than 1.0 EFTSL your fee will differ.
Annual review
We review student contribution amounts annually and they are likely to increase each year of your period of study (subject to a Commonwealth-specified cap), effective at the start of each calendar year.
Potential for inaccuracy
While every reasonable effort has been made to include correct and up-to-date information, you are also advised to consult directly with the Student Centre so they can provide you with specific and up-to-date information about fees.
