Summary list of recognised academic qualifications from overseas

The table below provides a summary, of the lowest level academic qualifications offered overseas which are accepted by the University for the admission of domestic students into undergraduate courses. This information is intended as a guide only.

The table generally shows the secondary qualification which is currently offered by these countries. The University also accepts some overseas secondary qualifications which are no longer offered. If you require definitive advice about your eligibility for admission you should contact the Admissions Office.

If the country where you studied offers a secondary qualification which is accepted by the University, but you did not complete it, your application may still be considered if you have completed a period of tertiary study.

In cases where the entry against a particular country states that only tertiary study is acceptable, the period of study must generally be at least one full-time year in length, usually in an award course of at least Bachelor’s (or equivalent) level, and it must have been undertaken at a recognised institution.

Please note that some overseas secondary qualifications are offered outside their country of origin, such as the GCE A Levels, the International Baccalaureate and the American High School Diploma. You should check the entry showing the country of origin for these qualifications to see whether they are recognised rather than the country in which you completed the qualification.
