Orientation
Transition to University involves both opportunities and challenges. A successful transition is important in developing a sense of belonging and better academic adjustment and success. The University seeks to facilitate students’ successful transition through a wide range of programs and activities.
As an undergraduate student, the following orientation events may be of interest to you:
Orientation 2012
Come to Orientation in the week before semester starts, to meet fellow students in your course, attend your faculty welcome, and to pick up key skills for success. You will also have the chance to get to know the campus and the critical resources to make the best transition to University life.
Go to sydney.edu.au/orientation for details, quick quiz and timetable information.
O-Week
The University of Sydney Union and other student organisations coordinate O-Week, giving you an opportunity to find out about the services they offer and the clubs and societies you can join.
Visit the O-Week website.
Faculty-based orientation events
Many faculties also organise their own orientation events. Some of these are listed on the Faculty and School welcomes page of the Orientation website. You can also contact your faculty for more information.
Orientation for Indigenous students
All first year undergraduate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are invited to attend the Cadigal Orientation and Academic Skills workshop. Please visit the Academic Skills website for further details.
