Application Processing Fee for international students
The University of Sydney has an Application Processing Fee for international applications.
The Application Processing Fee (APF) is AUD$100, and is non-refundable.
The Application Processing Fee applies to all applications apart from the exemptions listed below.
What does this mean?
- You must attach an Application Processing Fee of AUD$100 with your application.
- Any applications received without the Application Processing Fee attached will not be processed.
- You can pay your Application Processing Fee either by credit card (online or paper application) or by bankdraft (paper applications only).
- Payment may be submitted by:
a. Online applications: Completing the secure online credit card payment stage at the end of the online application form.
b. Paper form applications: Completing the APF payment section on the application form and providing your credit card details or attaching a bank draft to your application. - Bank drafts must be made payable to The University of Sydney and must be in Australian Dollars.
- Credit cards accepted are MasterCard, VISA and Diners.
Exemptions
The Application Processing Fee is not applicable in the following circumstances:
- Students who are enrolled in a University of Sydney course at the time of submitting a new application.
- Students who have a current application- ie. an application that is still under assessment, but who wish to change/submit a new application to change their applied course or commencement semester.
- Sponsored students, eg. recipients of Australian Development Scholarships (AusAID) and other nominated Full Tuition Fee scholarships. This exemption only applies to students who have already obtained a full scholarship and who can attach a letter confirming this to their application.
- Exchange students, on a Student Exchange Program from one of our partner universities.
- Study Abroad students.
- Co-tutelle students (who study their degree at two partner institutions, gaining a degree from both universities upon graduation).
- Interviews (see details below)
Interviews
University of Sydney staff members engaged in international marketing and recruitment activities are authorised to waive the APF for complete or nearly complete applications that they personally review at exhibitions or interview programs.
An application will be deemed complete enough to justify waiving the APF when:
- The application form is correctly completed in all areas.
- Complete or nearly complete transcripts are attached.
- All attached documents are properly certified.
The staff member must personally examine the application concerned before granting or withholding an APF waiver. Agents cannot waive the APF.
