Joint Cancer Research Symposium between the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and Sydney Medical School
Funded by: International Project Development Fund and Sydney Medical School
Project: The symposium will provide a platform to harness novel research and innovative education methodologies in cancer prevention and treatment. This proposal towards internationalisation focuses on establishing long term relationships with key partners in India, and has the support and expertise of high ranked academics at SMS and MUHS, one of the leading universities in India. This will therefore lead to cultivating a global cadre for quality research.

Assessment of opportunities for collaborative research for maternal, neonatal, and child health and nutrition in India
Funded by: International Project Development Fund and Sydney Medical School
Project: The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre is a major academic research organisation committed to improving health outcomes, policy and practice in Australia and internationally. The Neonatal Clinical Trials Group in NHMRC CTC aims to co-host a workshop in India with leading Indian academic neonatal units to develop collaboration in international trials in high risk newborns.

Indo-Australian collaboration in non-communicable disease and injury research.
Funded by: International Project Development Fund and the George Institute for International Health
Project: Two research workshops (diabetes: New Delhi, Nov 2009; road traffic injury: Sydney, March 2010) are proposed, with a detailed collaborative study protocol suitable for major funding as the outcome of each. These initial workshops will serve as a sustainable model for funded, truly collaborative and major research activities between University of Sydney and a range of Indian scientists.

Building a cancer prevention partnership for women in Tamil Nadu, India-linking Sydney Medical School, Weill Cornell Medical College (USA), Cancer Council Australia and Christian Medical College Vellore, India
Funded by: The University’s International Project Development Fund and Sydney Medical School.
Project: This project will allow for a collaboration that will extend and evaluate a cerical and breast cancer prevention program in Vellore, Tamil Nadu India.
