PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Developing Interventions to improve Post Natal Contraception access and uptake in Papua New Guinea
Funded by: International Project Development Fund and Sydney Medical School
Project: Papua New Guinea has a maternal mortality ratio that is 70 times higher than in Australia. Unplanned high parity pregnancies are one of the major associations with maternal death. We propose to bring together a multidisciplinary research group comprising medical, midwifery and family planning staff from PNG and Australia to focus on improving access to post natal contraception uptake in PNG.
