School of Civil Engineering (Project Management Group)

Project Management

The School of Civil Engineering offers the following graduate programs in Project Management:

  • Master of Project Management
  • Graduate Diploma in Project Management
  • Graduate Certificate in Project Management.

These programs are available on-campus (check session details) and through online (internet-based) delivery.

The requirements of each program are shown in the following tables.

Master of Project Management

To qualify for the award of the Master of Project Management a candidate must complete 48 credit points.
The Master of Project Management is available with the following options:
MPM - Generic
(a) 2 Foundation units (PMGT5871 is compulsory)
(b) 2 Specialisation units (any)
(c) 2 Professional Practice units (PMGT5872 is compulsory)
(d) 2 Elective units
MPM - Specialisation
(a) 2 Foundation units (PMGT5871 is compulsory)
(b) 2 Specialisation units (Including the core from your chosen specialisation)
(c) 2 Professional Practice units (PMGT5872 is compulsory)
(d) 2 Elective units
MPM - Research pathway (Requires Distinction (75%) average or higher results over 24 credit points)
(a) 2 Foundation units (PMGT5871 is compulsory)
(b) 2 Specialisation units
(c) 1 Elective unit
(d) 1 Professional Practice unit
(e) 12 credit points of Thesis units

Graduate Diploma in Project Management

To qualify for the award of the Graduate Diploma in Project Management a candidate must complete 36 credit points as follows:
(a) 2 Foundation units
(b) 1 Specialist unit
(c) 1 Professional Practice unit
(d) 1 Elective unit
Candidates admitted to the Graduate Diploma, after completing 24 credit points, may proceed to the Master of Project Management by achieving a Credit (65%) average or above.
Candidates intending to transfer to the Master of Project Management should plan their enrolment accordingly to ensure they meet the degree requirements of the MPM.
