Flexible First-Year Entry

The Flexible First Year Program allows you to explore different engineering disciplines before deciding upon your ultimate course of study. You will undertake a common set of units of study in your first semester before transferring to a stream.

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours may be undertaken and awarded in the following streams:

• Aeronautical
• Biomedical
• Chemical and Biomolecular
• Civil
• Electrical
• Mechanical
• Mechatronic
• Software

In all streams, you will undertake a mandatory 10-12 week work experience, and enjoy opportunities for the development of significant professional relationships with industry partners.

The Flexible First Year Program has a common first semester. Students then transfer prior to Semester 2 into the stream of their choice. Please note that the Aeronautical, Biomedical, Mechatronic and Software streams have a minimal entry mark from the First Year.
