Year 1

In the first year, candidates must complete 48 credit points of units of study, comprising:
(i) 12 credit points of Social Work core units of study
(ii) 12 credit points of 1000-level units of study in a Table A major
(iii) 12 credit points of 2000-level units of study in a Sociology minor*
(iv) 6 credit points of Open Learning Environment (OLE) units of study**
(v) 6 credit points of elective units of study from either Table A or Table S
*If a major in Sociology has been selected a Table S minor can be completed.
**OLE units of study can be taken at any stage throughout the degree.

Year 2

*If a major in Sociology has been selected a Table S minor can be completed.

Honours Pathway

Admission to Honours in Social Work
To qualify for admission to the honours degree in Social Work, a student must have a WAM of at least 70 across the following second and fourth year units (with the fourth year weighted double): SCWK2007 (or equivalent), SCWK2008 (or equivalent), SCWK2009, SCWK3012, SCWK3013, SCWK3011, SCWK3014, and (SCWK2006, or SCLG3701 or SCLG3702)
Candidates who are eligible for Honours must complete the 24 credit points of units of study listed below instead of SCWK3005 Field Education 1.

Year 5

In the fifth year, candidates must complete 48 credit points of Social Work core units of study, comprising the following:
(Please note: Candidates must enrol in SCWK4011 and SCWK4010 in Semester 1 and SCWK4012, SCWK4013, SCWK4020 and either SCWK4002 or SCWK4008 in Semester 2. Candidates must successfully complete all assessments in SCWK4011 before proceeding with SCWK4010. Students must also successfully complete all assessments for SCWK4012 and SCWK4013 before continuing with either SCWK4002 or SCWK4008.)
