Master of Project Management

To qualify for the award of the Master of Project Management a candidate must complete 72 credit points including:
  • 24 credit points of Project Management Technical Core units of study;
  • 12 credit points of Project Management Leadership Core units of study;
  • 6 credit points of Project Management Strategic Core units of study;
  • 30 credit points from either the research pathway or the coursework pathway.
To complete the coursework pathway a candidate must complete:
  • 30 credit points of Elective units of study, including:
    • A minimum 6 and maximum 18 credit points of Technical Electives
    • A minimum 6 and maximum 18 credit points of Strategic Electives
    • A minimum 6 and maximum 18 credit points of Leadership Electives
To complete the research pathway a candidate must complete:
  • 18 credit points of Thesis units; and
  • 12 credit points of elective units of study, including:
    • 6 credit points of strategic elective units; and
    • 6 credit points of leadership elective units.

Graduate Diploma in Project Management

To qualify for the award of the Graduate Diploma in Project Management a candidate must complete 48 credit points, including:
  • 18 credit points of Project Management Technical Core units of study
  • 12 credit points of Project Management Leadership Core units of study
  • 6 credit points of Project Management Strategic Core units of study
  • 12 credit points of Elective units of study or PMGT5862 Introduction to Research in Project Studies and 6 credit points of Elective units of study

Graduate Certificate in Project Management

To qualify for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management a candidate must complete 24 credit points:
  • 6 credit points of Project Management Technical Core units of study
  • 6 credit points of Project Management Strategic Core units of study
  • 12 credit points of Project Management Leadership units of study

Research units

Master of Project Management candidates can choose to complete Thesis (18 credit points), comprising those units listed below.

It is expected that the project will be conducted over two consecutive semesters although the two 6 credit point units PMGT5883 and PMGT5884 may be undertaken concurrently. Students must have achieved a 75% average in PMGT5862 and approval from the Program Director to be eligible to enrol in this unit. Students considering this option should discuss it with the Thesis coordinator at least one semester before they intend to start.
