Supervision and progress
- The Supervision of Higher Degree by Research Students Policy 2013 outlines the roles and responsibilities of both supervisor and candidate.
- The Annual Progress Review (APR) is outlined in the University of Sydney (Higher Degree by Research) Rule 2011 and the Progress Review of HDR Students Guidelines 2014.
- Under the Postgraduate Research Support Scheme (PRSS), funds are made available each year to enable postgraduate research students to present papers at conferences, use specialist facilities and purchase specialist books that are essential to their research. Contact your faculty for details of the PRSS.
- The Training Needs Analysis is a tool for managing, reflecting on and helping you to develop generic and disciplinary skills during their candidature. You are encouraged to undertake courses to enhance your skills in communication, professional conduct, social history of your discipline, and other career-development activities. Please discuss your requirements with your supervisor.
