Thesis abstract:

The extreme physical demands of dance place dancers at significant injury risk. In order to successfully implement injury prevention initiatives the dance injury problem must be described and risk factors must be identified on an ongoing basis.  Therefore the aim of this research is to investigate the prevalence of injury in professional and recreational dance populations, their contributing factors, consequences and rehabilitation.
