Biographical details
Dr Angela Dew has worked in the field of disability for the past 31 years in both the government and non-government sectors in direct service provision, management, teaching and research. Angela’s research career over the past 20 years at the University of Western Sydney and the University of Sydney, has focused on issues for adults with lifelong disabilities and their families. Angela’s doctoral studies completed at the University of Sydney in 2011, explored from a life course perspective the relationship between older adults with cerebral palsy and their non-disabled siblings. Angela is currently employed as the Project Manager on the ‘Wobbly Hub and Double Spokes’ project. This is a NHMRC funded research partnership between the University of Sydney and NSW Family and Community Services Ageing, Disability and Home Care, Western Region, investigating the delivery of therapy services to people with a disability living in rural and remote areas.
Teaching and supervision
Angela has supervised Honours students at the Faculty of Health Sciences and is currently co-supervising a PhD student. She has provided guest lectures on using a life course approach in qualitative research.
