Biographical details
Edmund Ramon Talob is a university-trained and experienced Rehabilitation Counsellor. He has worked in this profession for the past 15 years in both the public service sector and severalprivate rehabilitation providers and community-based disability and aged care services in Australia. He has an overseas qualification in Psychology and worked as anacademic,psychologist and guidance counsellorfor more than a decade in the Philippines. More recently Edmundgaiined employmentas a Job Capacity and Disability Assessor, a role that kept him abreast with the employment and vocational potentials of persons livingwith chronic illness, disability and disadvantage within changing legislative frameworksand service delivery demands.
Research interests
Edmund is currently a PhD candidate.His research involves amixed-method exploratory study of the graceful ageing experience in the Australian and Philippine context. Heenvisions through this project toestablish an empirical definition of what it means to age gracefully within the diverse culturalexperience of Australian and Filipino life. Another vision of this project is tohighlight the role of Rehabilitation Counsellors in the challenging and dynamic fields of ageing, gerontology andrehabilitation.
