Biographical details

Joanne's primary area of interest is working with children with learning and behavioural difficulties. She has extensive clinical experience working within private occupational therapy settings, providing OT services for children and their parents. Her particular interest is working collaboratively with teachers in the school setting and she recently completed her PhD titled 'The impact of implementing the Move to Learn program on young children's school performance' during which she was a recipient of an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship.

Joanne is currently involved in a number of research projects including a line of research investigating the effectiveness of an occupational therapy intervention program which aims to develop social competence skills for children with learning difficulties.

Teaching and supervision

Joanne teaches into both the graduate and undergraduate occupational therapy programs.
