Biographical details

Justin McNab began his research career in the biological sciences but soon became interested in social science gaining a Masters in Anthropology (Social Anthropology) and more recently a PhD in health sociology. His research experience has involved working with marginalized groups and also on government and non-government evaluation projects including health and community service evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Research interests

Justin works on social, organisational, health system and policy aspects of chronic illness. He has a strong interest in theory and analysis of qualitative data and has had 20 years practical experience in qualitative data collection using a variety of methods. He is also interested in the interaction of structure and human agency within health contexts, as well as applying a social constructionist approach to health system and health policy questions more generally.
