Biographical details

Katrina has worked for over 10 years in dysphagia, speech and voice management with particular focus in rehabilitation for patients following Head & Neck Cancer. She completed a PhD in 2015 reviewing current SLP rehabilitaiton as well as investigating the effectiveness of a novel approach - tongue ultrasound biofeedback - in speech and swallowing therapy for patients following partial glossectomy.

Research interests

- Speech and swallowing rehabilitation for patients with Head & Neck Cancer

- Communication, olfactory and respiratory rehabilitation for laryngectomees

- Voice assessment and management

Katrina is trained and has performed SLP-led nasendoscopy for fibre-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) as well as interpreting videofluroscopic swallow assessments.
