Biographical details
- Spatial Frequency Analysis of Medical Images
- Experts systems support a visual inspection of radiological scenes
- Eye tracking application for radiological studies
Until recently, I was a Doctoral Researcher at the Lancaster University and the University of Cumbria, UK, where I was conducting several projects focusing on Medical Image Analysis and Visual Perception in Radiology. Eye Tracking was applied in the perception studies aiming to localise the distribution of visual attention, in both space and time relative to cognitive load during decision-making events. Assessment of radiological decision performance used the state of the art model based on Jackknife Free Response methodology. Moreover, several different techniques in image processing and analysis were developed. For example, Stationary Wavelet Packet Transforms were used to generate Spatial Frequency features of selected local Regions of Interest, upon which a certain type of overt or cover decision were made by human observers. These image properties were found be correlated with the subjects' responses.
In 2007, I became a Member of SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering, and since then, I have a privilege to participate and present my research at the SPIE Medical Imaging conference, which is one of the biggest scientific annual event in the field. In 2008, I was elected for a Full Member of The Institute of Physics (MIsntP).
