Biographical details

Dr Najeebullah Soomro is a physician with a deep passion for Sports Medicine. After finishing his MBBS he did a Masters in International Public Health (Major: Injury Prevention) from The University of Sydney. Being a former University grade cricketer and an active sportsman, his research interests lie in the area of injury prevention and prediction in sports with a particular interest in Cricket. He has received several international scholarships and has collaborations with several sporting organisations including Cricket Australia and Turkish Football Federation. Currently he is investigating the role of strength and conditioning in injury prevention amongst adolscent cricketers, a collaborative research project between Cricket Australia, Cricket New South Wales and The University of Sydney. In addition, since 2011, he has been associated with the Sydney Stars Sports Club as a consultant team doctor and is an organising member of Cricket World Cup 2015 conference on Cricket research.
