Biographical details
Dr Peter Kench commenced employment at The University of Sydney in 1990 as a Lecturer in Nuclear Medicine at the Discipline of Medical Radiation Sciences. Areas of teaching include nuclear medicine professional practice topics. Leadership roles include course director and unit of study coordinator in postgraduate courses. He is also involved the supervision of honours projects and a research higher degree students.Peter has taken a leadership role in a number of learning and teaching grants at the University which have focused on the following topics: The development of computer assisted instruction; The development of eLearning templates for the Faculty of Health Sciences; Peer assessment of individual contribution to group work; The implementation of online display and analysis software for nuclear medicine students; The development of eLearning methods for learning and assessing cross sectional anatomy applied knowledge . He has also been a recipient of the Faculty of Health Science Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Research interests
Peter's current research interests include: The development of novel of multiple pinhole designs for small animal SPECT to enhance system sensitivity; Dynamic and three dimensional radiopharmaceuctical biodistribution imaging of small animal disease models; The impact of clinical hybrid SPECT/CT functional and anatomical imaging on reporter accuracy and confidence.
