Biographical details

Peter Sinclair has taught Biomechanics of Exercise within the Tertiary sector since 1986. He has taught across the full range of programmes, from first year undergraduate to postgraduate coursework and PhD research supervision, across a range of related departments including Exercise and Sport Science, Human Movement Education, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Peter has been an active member of the Biomechanics community in Australia, serving as the Foundation Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Biomechanics from 1996 to 1998. He is a member of the International Society of Biomechanics and of Exercise Science Australia (ESSA), where he has served on their Accreditation and Curriculum Committee. His musculo-skeletal modelling work has previously been incorporated into Australian and International Patents. He has previously supervised more than ten PhD, Masters and Honours projects through to completion that have been undertaken cooperatively between the University of Sydney and elite sport bodies such as the NSW and Australian Institutes of Sport, Cricket Australia and the Australian Rugby Union. In 2011, Peter spent time as a visiting research fellow with the Robotique Biomécanique Sport Santé research group (RoBioSS) in the Laboratory of Solid Mechanics at the University of Poitiers, France.
