Biographical details

Roxanna Pebdani is a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Rehabilitation Counselling and a Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor. She holds a bachelors degree in Psychology from the American University of Paris, a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counselling from Syracuse University, and a Ph.D. in Counsellor Education from the University of Maryland. She completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Washington.

Research interests

Roxanna's research interests are in women's issues in disability, specifically pregnancy and fertility. Roxanna also conducts research on sexuality and disability. Her other streams of research include supervision in counselling and pedagogy in Rehabilitation Counselling. She also conducts interdisciplinary research on quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injury.

Teaching and supervision

Roxanna is the Course Director for the Discipline of Rehabilitation Counselling. She has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate units since 2010, and has been teaching at the University of Sydney since 2018.
