Biographical details

Vanessa Loh is a CEPAR research fellow located in the Ageing, Work and Health Research Unit, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Sydney. She obtained her PhD in Psychology from the University of Sydney in 2010, immediately starting work as a postdoctoral research fellow in organisational psychology at the School of Psychology, Macquarie University, before commencing her current role in 2012.

Her PhD research examined the role of individual differences in cognitive ability and personality in learning from errors and feedback in training, whilst her postdoctoral research shifted her focus to issues related to healthy ageing, work and retirement.

During her PhD and postdoctoral role, she gained teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate psychologycourses including Statistics and Research Methods, Advanced Statistics for Psychology, Cognitive, Developmental and Social Psychology, Psychological Assessment and Organisational Psychology, Personality and Differential Psychology, Intelligence and Reasoning, and Introductory Psychology.

Research interests

Her current interests include examining the predictors and determinants of healthy andproductive ageing, the interplay between health and productivity over the life course, and the psychosocial, individual and environmental factors that influence or are influenced by older adults' productive contributions (including but not limited to paid work).

Ad hoc reviewer for the Australasian Journal on Ageing, Learning and Individual Differences, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Annual Conference.
