Research Teams

There are three research teams within the Unit:

  • Ageing and Health: includes a ground breaking longitudinal study that looks at how the health levels of participants in 1994 influences their physical and social activity today.
  • Participation, Safety and Ageing: includes a world-leading falls prevention program which is being rolled out across Australia and considered for use in the United States.
  • Work and Health: one study explores interventions to assist ageing workers; another examines the impacts of traumatic workplace deaths on families.

The Ageing, Work & Health research Unit is now member of the IAGG's Global Aging Research Network (GARN).
The Global Aging Research Network project was launched by IAGG, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The aim of this Network is to identify the best research centers dedicated to social, biological, behavioural and clinical gerontology.
