Uniform Requirements

Students may be required to wear a uniform when undertaking placements, particularly in hospitals. Students are advised to order uniforms at least 8 weeks prior to a placement to allow for delivery.

While each discipline may differ slightly, the typical uniform will consist of:

Female

  • A white polo shirt bearing the University crest and faculty name, purchased from the Faculty’s Course Collateral Online eStore
  • A navy blue or black skirt, or navy blue or black trousers
  • Closed, flat-heeled leather shoes in black, navy blue or white
  • A cardigan, jumper or sleeveless vest in navy blue
  • Student identification badge. Note that Physiotherapy students must obtain their badge from Cumberland Student Guild

Male

  • A white polo shirt bearing the University crest and faculty name, purchased from the Course Collateral Online eStore
  • Navy blue or black trousers
  • Closed shoes in black or brown leather
  • A cardigan, jumper or sleeveless vest in navy blue
  • Student identification badge. Note that Physiotherapy students must obtain their badge from Cumberland Student Guild


Students with special consideration due to religious and/or cultural circumstances can discuss changes to the uniform requirements with their WIL Administrator.

Personal Radiation Monitors (PRM)

All students enrolled in a Medical Radiation Sciences course must wear a personal radiation monitor (PRM) when on placement. The PRM’s are issued by the at set times during the year, and students are responsible for exchanging their monitor in the timeframes advised. A penalty of $50 applies for lost PRMS or late returns. Payments can be made online.
