The CDTRC provides services to members of the community experiencing difficulty with communication and/or swallowing.
Speech Pathologists provide expert advice, prevention education and treatment in a broad range of areas including language, speech, stuttering, voice, augmentative and alternative communication and swallowing.
The first visit to the clinic usually involves a full assessment of you or your child's communication skills. From this we will provide you with a detailed report and recommendations about treatment, if required.
The frequency and type of therapy will be decided in consultation with you based on professional practice best suited for the particular problem. These may involve several sessions a week in group or individual sessions, or combinations of both.
In other cases, intensive blocks of sessions may be advised. Most therapy sessions correspond to the University's 13-week semesters and others take place between semesters.
