Sydney Centre for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Statistics

The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Indigenous Strategy and Services announced the establishment of The Sydney Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Statistics (SCATSIS) in 2014, hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Richard Madden, Professor of Health Statistics and Director of the National Centre for Classification in Health, is the founding Director.

The Centre aims to build on the significant advances made nationally and in NSW in collecting, analysing and understanding information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Acknowledgment of country
SCATSIS would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wangal People of the Eora Nation. SCATSIS would also like to pay respect to the Elders past and present and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are present today.
