Welcome to Yooroang Garang: Indigenous Student Support Unit. Yooroang Garang has a long and successful history of providing education and support for Indigenous students at the Faculty of Health Sciences in the University of Sydney.
Located at Lidcombe in the western suburbs of Sydney, the faculty stands on land of the people of the Eora nation and I would like to acknowledge and pay respect to these people as the traditional owners of the country.
Yooroang Garang offers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people a special place within the University of Sydney where they can study and develop their academic interests and be supported to reach their goals and aspirations within a health career. The staff of Yooroang Garang bring together years of experience in teaching and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through tertiary education.
We are proud of our many graduates who work in a variety of health care settings and strive to make a real difference to the health of all Australians.
If you are thinking about a career in allied health I encourage you to come and visit us here at Yooroang Garang to meet the staff and see and talk about the programs and facilities offered.
