Safe travel and security information at Cumberland Campus
We would like to draw your attention to the following important measures you can take to safeguard your own personal safety.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
We encourage students and staff to take the bus service to and from Lidcombe Station.
Bus information
During Orientation and teaching weeks (from Monday to Friday) buses run every 8 minutes during peak morning and afternoon periods and every 15 minutes at other times throughout the day. Route 915 buses operate from approximately 7.00 am - 6.00 pm Monday - Friday.

After hours services
On weekdays during Orientation and teaching weeks, Cumberland campus provides an after-hours shuttle bus service to Lidcombe station. It departs from the bus stop just inside Gate 2. The service runs between 6.00pm and 10pm with pick-up approximately every 20 minutes.
Taxis
The Premier cab service generally has drivers based at Lidcombe Station who are happy to pick up from Gate 2 bus shelter - call 13 10 17.

CAMPUS SECURITY MEASURES
There a number of security measures we take to ensure your safety.
- Security Officers patrol and the campus 24hours a day/ 7 days a week and can be contacted on 9351 9230 if you require assistance at any time or 9351 3333 in the case of an emergency.
- Car parks are monitored by security staff via closed circuit TV cameras
- Emergency phones are located throughout the campus - the red emergency button will directly dial Security. You need to give the number of the phone to enable Security to locate you. The phones are located at:
- Security Gatehouse 2
- Service Road adjacent to J Block
- T Block
- outside B Block
- concourse outside L Block
- rear H Block adjacent to carpark
- outside D Block
TIPS TO HELP YOU TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY
- Avoid lonely or gloomy places, especially at night - walk with a friend, form a group, or stay with a crowd
- Be aware of the people around you - fellow students, staff and others
- Be wary of strangers, on foot or in cars, asking for directions
- If someone follows you, go to a place where there are other people
- Conceal valuable items
- Respect your intuition - it could protect you from danger
- Carry a personal alarm or be prepared to scream 'No!' loudly and run if threatened
- Walk tall and don't look scared - confidence deters attackers
