LAUNCH OF WEB-PAGE -- MESSAGE FROM PROF PHILIP BELL, HEAD, SCHOOL OF MEDIA,
FILM AND THEATRE, UNSW (sent by Jessica)

Dear members of the Australasian Humour Scholars Network (AHSN),

I am pleased to announce the launch of a new web-site for the Humour
Scholars Network, hosted by the School of Media, Film and Theatre, a major
research, teaching and practice School in the Faculty of Arts and Social
Sciences at University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Visit: http://media.arts.unsw.edu.au/ahsn/

I look forward to meeting some of you at the forthcoming Colloquium on April
18-19. While most Colloquia have been hosted at UNSW, in 2005 the host in
Coffs Harbour was the Bunker Cartoon Gallery (Australia's only gallery
devoted to cartooning art), and in 2006, it will be the School of
Psychology, Swinburne University of Technology, in Melbourne -- many thanks
to our colleague, Dr Bruce Findlay.

AHSN Convenor, Dr Jessica Milner Davis (one of my School's Honorary Visiting
Fellows), has placed on the new web-site all you will need for registering
to attend the Colloquium -- several maps, the registration form, the draft
Colloquium program and accommodation and local transport suggestions. There
are also links to the International Society for Humor Studies in the USA,
the 2006 International Conference in Copenhagen and International Summer
School in Fribourg, and other resources.

Please draw the web-site to the attention of others who might be interested
in joining the e-list Network -- they can do this on line, and e-mail
addresses can also be updated. Unfortunately it is not yet possible to
register on-line for the Colloquium, so this must be done by fax or mail
with payment.

With best wishes and thank you for your interest in Humour Studies.

Philip Bell
