Bruce Meikle
Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Bruce holds responsibility for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) team. He has extensive experience in information technology and management in the insurance, retail, finance, banking and education industries. His management roles include project management, application development and support, architecture and strategy, outsourcing management (from both sides), IT risk and security and financial management.

Digital Strategy

Claire has extensive IT industry and education sector experience with both the NSW Department of Education and Microsoft and brings a range of skills that will help promote and deliver the Digital Strategy.

Angie has been a member of the ICT team for over five years. Prior to becoming Director of Business Operations Angie worked as an Executive Officer in ICT, and has a wealth of administrative, financial and operations experience. 

Nick Gilbert
DirectorService Management

Nick has been with ICT since 2002. His background includes roles with the ICT Helpdesk, Student Computing, as Manager of Client/User Environments and most recently as Manager of Next Technology in the Tech Lab, where he led the introduction of innovative technologies to the University.

Steve joined the ICT team in 2011 as Infrastructure Engineering Manager. Prior to moving to the University, Steve held management roles in IT with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, eBET Group and Tabcorp.

Christo Willemse
DirectorFaculty Engagement (Science and Engineering)

Christo is responsible for managing ICT’s relationships with Faculty of Science, Veterinary Science, Engineering and Information Technologies, and Agriculture and Environment. He joined ICT in 2007, focusing on IT management for Research and Education. Christo previously held positions including Head of GIS (Asia Pacific) and Head of Information Management (Northern Europe).

Mat Myers
Faculty Engagement (Humanities)

Mat is responsible for managing ICT’s relationships with Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, Architecture, Design and Planning, Sydney Law School, Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Sydney Business School. Mat has over 20 years’ experience in IT, previously working with the British Government, Diageo, Optus and Compaq/HP.

Gabbie Whelan
DirectorFaculty Engagement (Medicine and Health)

Gabbie is responsible for managing ICT’s relationships with Sydney Medical School, Sydney Nursing School, Faculty of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She has over 20 years’ experience in IT, primarily in the financial and higher education sectors. Her areas of expertise include project and program delivery, application management and relationship management.
