What's new?
AV equipped teaching venues throughout the University are designed to enrich presentations with top quality, user-friendly, reliable, leading-edge systems. We are constantly upgrading and improving our AV systems and equipment in a bid to engage students and optimise learning outcomes.
Windows 7 has arrived!
Windows 7 operating system is being rolled out to lectern PCs in AV equipped lecture theatres and teaching spaces. As well as improving computer performance and providing greater functionality, Windows 7 delivers improved security against viruses and increased compatibility with new video file formats. It also reduces the need to install drivers for USB devices.
Windows 7 is compatible with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, so existing PowerPoint presentations will work on the upgraded machines. The slideshow icon, however, has been moved to the bottom right of the window.
Please visit Ask Sydney – ICT for more information. Microsoft Office software is available by clicking on downloads tab at the top of their website.
For AV user support and more information about University lecture theatre PCs, please contact AVS on x16000 (option 2).
Interactive screens
Our more recent AV systems include Wacom's innovative interactive screen and pen displays. The special PC monitor allows users to write and draw directly and onto the screen, as well as navigate menus faster than a mouse. It's a great tool to enhance your presentations by engaging your audience and increasing interactivity. All you need to do is touch the screen with the pen to control computer applications or write in digital ink. For more information please visit Wacom Australia
