What is the service?

ICT provides hosting services to faculties and units, which allows staff and students to use hardware owned and managed by the University to run and manage applications, websites, databases, or to store and share data.

What is included?

This service includes:

  • Server hosting (with Unix, Linux or Windows operating systems)
  • Provision of network storage space
  • Application hosting services
  • Changing options associated with a hosted service (such as increased storage space)
  • Backup and restore
  • Disaster Recovery

What should I expect?

Key Metrics Target
Server Hosting (with Linux or Windows) 95% of requests will be responded to within 2 working hours, to establish your requirements.
Provision of network data storage space All UniKey account holders have 2MB of server space to create for data storage location.  This space is allocated during UniKey account creation.
Application or database hosting services 95% of requests will be responded to within 2 working hours, to establish your requirements.
Changing options associated with your hosted services 95% of requests will be responded to within 2 working hours, to establish your requirements.

How do I request the service?

Hosting requests need to be placed through your faculty/unit's ICT Relationship Manager or Solution Manager.

Students should talk to their course supervisor if they need to host data on a University server. If additional space is required, the supervisor will need to place a request to their ICT Relationship Manager on the student's behalf.
