UniKey account management

What is the service?

This service covers the provision and management of UniKey accounts.

To access the majority of IT systems at the University, you will need a username (known as a UniKey), and a password. Some of the services that require a UniKey include: email, internet and network, eLearning (WebCT), MyUni, myHRonline, dialup and VPN. Your UniKey account can also be used to pay library fines online, purchase study notes, as well as login to many other University systems.

What is included?

This service includes:

  • Creating new UniKey accounts
  • Changing options associated with UniKey accounts
  • Changing account passwords
  • De-activation of UniKey accounts

What should I expect?

Key Metrics Target
Creating a new UniKey account 90% of UniKey account requests will be completed within 2 work days.
Changing options associated with UniKey accounts 90% of account changes will be completed within 1 day.
Changing account passwords 95% of staff password changes or resets will be completed whilst on the phone. Student password changes / resets may take longer if unique identification is not possible.
Deleting UniKey accounts UniKey de-activation will take place immediately.

Helpdesk support hours are 8:00am - 9:00pm AEST, Monday - Friday (closed on public holidays)

How do I request the service?

New UniKey Accounts

New UniKey accounts for students are created as part of the enrolment process and included on the confirmation of enrolment letter.

New UniKey accounts for permanent staff are created by Human Resources, and are issued when the employment period begins. For contract staff, the Manager must complete an online request form.
