What is the service?

ICT provides and supports a range of conferencing services which enable staff and students at the University to participate in virtual lectures, meetings and presentations in real time.

What is included?

This service includes?

  • Video, web and data conferencing - ICT will setup and test your video and data conferencing connection for your pre-booked venue.
  • Video conferencing facilitates high quality video and sound.
  • Web conferencing - ICT will provide you with a special login to use web conferencing and a set of instructions for its use. Once you have the login and are familiar with the process you need not contact ICT again to enable further web conferencing. In a web conference, each participant sits at their own computer and is connected live to other participants via the internet. Web conferencing is more suited to a small numbers of participants.
  • Data conferencing - ICT will enable multiple users in various locations to view computer screen content, in real time. Data conferencing can be used in conjunction with video conferencing or tele-conferencing.
  • ICT designs, procures and installs new video conferencing services
  • ICT will provide copies of video conferences on DVD on request
  • Training workshops are run twice yearly or on request

What should I expect?

Video and data conference setup and testing 95% of video conferences will be setup and tested within 5 days
Web conference login creation 95% of logins will be created within 2 days
Design, procure and install video conferencing service, initial response 95% of requests will be responded to within 2 days
Completion of design, procurement and installation of video conferencing service 95% of requests will be completed within 8 weeks
Video conference copied to  DVD 95% of requests will be completed within 2 days
Fault response for active conference 95% of faults will be responded to within 30 minutes

Specialist support hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday (closed on public holidays)
