Learning and teaching

ICT facilitates a rich learning and teaching environment by supporting students' experience of learning across physical and virtual environments. We deliver technologies to respond to the increasing demand for dynamic learning tools, and support teachers to effectively meet those needs by utilising our technology.

This includes the following services:

Educational video production

We can provide expertise to teaching and research staff in the production of educational videos. The service is open to teaching and research staff who require quality video and audio content to improve their learning and teaching outcomes and enhance the student experience.

Our service includes the production of how-to-tutorial videos as well as educational documentaries, scripted dramas, interviews and overviews. Short how-to-tutorial videos are provided at no cost.

For longer more complex educational videos for coursework and/or non-profit research purposes, charges will apply based on our standard detailed subsidised budget, which we can supply. Our service does not include videos for promotional or marketing purposes.

Record a lecture

The University uses a program called Echo360 to record lectures. It can be used to record the projected image displayed on the lecturer's left hand screen (this includes the lectern computer, laptop or visualiser) and audio from the lapel microphone (so it is important that you speak clearly and clip the microphone somewhere suitable such as your shirt collar).

To access and use Echo360 you will need a staff UniKey account. If you are a visiting lecture at the University you will need to ask the staff member who has organised your visit to arrange lecture recording for you.
