Upgrade to Office365

The upgrade to Office365 is now complete (and ahead of schedule!). You can now access your email through MyUni or directly at https://outlook.com/uni.sydney.edu.au.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the upgrade process.

Remember: if you have set up a SkyDrive account, it is now separate from your University email account and available at www.skydrive.com using your existing login (UniKey@uni.sydney.edu.au) and password. However, if you change your UniKey password it will no longer synchronise with your SkyDrive account (and vice versa).

Frequently asked questions

The following are answers to frequently asked questions about the upgrade to Office365.

What changed during the Office365 upgrade?

Your new inbox will has a new look and you can now access to Office365 web apps.

Importantly, if you’re a SkyDrive user, your SkyDrive account is now separate from your University email account and available at www.skydrive.com using your existing login (UniKey@uni.sydney.edu.au) and password. However, if you change your UniKey password it will no longer synchronise with your SkyDrive account (and vice versa).

How do I access Sydney Mail after the upgrade?

After the upgrade period, you can access your email via MyUni again, as well as at https://outlook.com/uni.sydney.edu.au.
Note: after the upgrade, you will no longer be able to access your email via the generic outlook.com url.

If you’ve set up your mobile or tablet device to access your student email, you can continue accessing it through these devices.

If you're having trouble accessing your email via the Office365 website or on your mobile/tablet device please reset your UniKey password.

Will my email redirect/forward still work?

Yes, your email redirect/forward will still work after the upgrade. If you do experience issues accessing your email after the upgrade, make sure your redirect/forward setup is correct.

How do I access my SkyDrive account?

Your SkyDrive account will now be separate from your University email account and available at www.skydrive.com using your existing login (UniKey@uni.sydney.edu.au) and password. However, if you change your UniKey password it will no longer synchronise with your SkyDrive account (and vice versa).

I can access email via MyUni, but cannot access it via https://outlook.com/uni.sydney.edu.au. What should I do?

You need to change your UniKey password to meet the new password requirements.

I am prompted to reset my password when I try to access my Sydney Mail. What should I do?

You need to change your UniKey password to meet the new password requirements.

My UniKey password is different to the password I use to access Sydney Mail via https://outlook.com/uni.sydney.edu.au or via my mobile/tablet device. What should I do?

You need to synchronise your UniKey password across the UniKey and Sydney systems.
