iPhone setup guide for VPN
These are the instructions for accessing the internet on your iPhone using VPN.
- Tap Settings, then General, then Network
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Network page. Check that your iPhone is connected to the usyd Wi-Fi network.
- Tap VPN once the usyd wireless network has been selected
- Tap Add VPN Configuration... then tap IPSec
- Enter the details displayed below (see Figure 1. below)
Description : University of Sydney Internet
Server : vpn.usyd.edu.au
Account : your UniKey login name followed by !10
Password : Ask Every Time
Group Name: wireless
Secret : jacaranda - Scroll down and select Auto under the Proxy heading, then enter the following details in the URL field:
- http://www.usyd.edu.au/proxy.pac
- Tap Save
- Turn the VPN on by sliding the ON/OFF switch to the ON position
- Once the VPN is turned on it will ask for authentication. Enter your UniKey!10 and password, then tap OK.
- Press the Home button and the VPN icon should be visible across the top of the screen.
Your iPhone is now ready to access webpages on Safari using the University wireless network.
